It consists of a house with a small plot of land located in the proximity of Malpensa airport. The Lombardia Regional Administration provided a field where every scientific partner will be able to test his technologies optimising costs and resources. ITC-CNR manages the main equipment and facilities: heating, surveillance, internet and phone connections, a data acquisition system and a monitoring system for meteorological data.

The house is about 550 m away from the runway and has two windows and a terrace oriented towards the airport. The two windows will be used for tuning and testing the active noise control devices provided by ITC-CNR, UPC-LEAM and CSTB, while the virtual barrier will be fitted on the terrace by CNRS-LMA.
